Hi I’m Wessel,

I will be supporting you and cheering you on during every step of your healing journey. For this deep transformation to happen, a holistic approach is important, acknowledging your whole life journey and how your history, biology, beliefs relationships and environment has shaped you.

This work goes extremely deep and is not for the faint-hearted, but if you would like to truly make a shift in your life and let go of bad habits/old grief/trauma/limiting beliefs/stagnant energy or if you just need a boost of inspiration - this is THE THING that will get you there.

My Qualification:
I have been trained by Lukis Mac and Helle Weston from Owaken Breathwork as a Trauma Informed Breathwork Facilitator.

My training was an intensive 9 months of deep inner work where I was personally taken through breathwork journeys every fortnight, as well as learning the many intricacies of the human psyche, how to fully support a client with whatever they need to work on, understanding the science behind the techniques that we teach and of course many mandatory practice client sessions.

Before working with any breathwork Facilitator it is imperative that you check their qualifications and experience. This work goes much deeper than “learning a simple breathing technique”. The person that you are working with needs to confidently hold the space for you and know how to respond in a grounded manner in any scenario that might come up for you.

Optimal wellbeing needs to be addressed physically, mentally, emotionally and energetically. Breathwork accesses all of these levels simultaneously in a safe, efficient and deeply impactful way.

The body knows how to heal and release. It is innate healing intelligence. Through Breathwork we give the bodymind a safe way to process, feel, move, shake, express, energise, explore, imagine, declare and let go. These are natural processes that we’ve been trained to bypass and as a result we hold on more than necessary, and find ourselves blocked and disconnected from our own life force and inner guidance.

You will safely access frozen energy, sensations and emotions in order to facilitate the natural release and completion of anything that has been unprocessed and ready to transform.

During the session I will guide you through activating and restorative breathing techniques, and introduce the support of toning, tapping and touch, to facilitate deep healing and transformation in the bodymind system as a whole.

What happens in a Breathwork session?

Your session is curated specifically for your needs. You will have your own comfortable space to be in, with the support of cushions, bolsters, blankets and music throughout the session to make your experience as comfortable as possible.

  1. Arrival: When you arrive we will have a chat about your intention, go through the pre-breathwork questionnaire that you would have already filled in the week before and we will tune in through a short meditation and restorative breathing to help you feel calm and grounded.

  2. Prepping for your journey: I will explain exactly how the Activating and Restorative breathing techniques work and you will have some time to practice them before going into your journey. I will also explain a bit of the science behind breathwork, what bodily or energetic sensations you might feel, and how I will support you throughout the session.

  3. During the Breathwork Journey: Emotional releases are quite common during a breathwork session so you have full permission to express yourself in any way you need to - this could be in the form of crying, yelling, laughing, speaking, shaking, moving, sitting up, rolling over - the body will tell you what it needs. I will be there to support you either physically or energetically, depending on what comes up for you. This could look like giving you verbal prompts, by introducing tapping, supportive touch or firm pressure on the body (always with your consent), I might also support you through toning, which is using the voice to release sound as a way of release.

Having said this - every journey is always different, so you might not experience any of the above and you might just feel deep rest, inspiration for a future project, intuitive messages from your guides - whatever is needed will make itself known in this space.

  4. Closing the session: We always end with restorative breathing to tell the body that we have completed the loop and it is safe to let go whatever has been processed through the session. You will be guided out of your journey very slowly and gently and there will be time to reflect, share and journal afterwards and I will be able to support you with any further questions or guidance you might need.

  5. Duration: Most sessions are usually 3 hours long, where 1 hour of that time would be spent in the breathwork journey. You should feel regulated and at ease when you leave the session and you will have support afterwards if anything else comes up for you.

You are always in full control of navigating your experience, you are the one accessing your own healing and seeing the shifts happen in real-time. The facilitator is there to provide support and guidance, but the gift of breathwork is that it gives you the tools and the empowerment to be truly responsible for processing your own emotions and doing the inner work to make big changes in your life.
